Workshop Description

Skills Level: Beginner--no sewing experience is needed for this class.

You will learn Laura Heine’s process of collage quilting. While creating your design you will look at value, hues, and motifs to layer fabric while creating your collage quilt. We will use a kit for this class and you may use your scrap stash for future designs. Learn Laura Heine's techniques to successfully create, secure, and quilt your work of art!

Expectation: You will learn the process of Laura Heine Collage Quilting. You should be able to have your collage completed by the end of the workshop. Suggestions on quilting and finishing your quilt will be shared in this class.

About Linda

Linda has been a teacher for 39 years; teaching at the grade school, high school, and college levels. She has been honored with several awards for her teaching and community service. Linda is an entrepreneur at heart having owned an embroidery business for 15 years and currently as owner of Seamless Getaways quilting retreat in Forrest, IL.

She is a certified Laura Heine Collage Quilting instructor; teaching at many quilt shops throughout Illinois, while sharing her enthusiasm for collage quilting. 

Having retired recently, she uses her teaching skills to share her love for collage quilting with quilters at quilt shops, retreats, and guilds. Linda considers teaching collage quilting techniques and sharing her quilting retreat with others as her encore career.

She enjoys hosting Sunday dinners for family and looks forward to sharing her passion for quilting with her two young granddaughters. Her goal is to make Seamless Getaways a special repeat destination for quilters to create pieces of art and enjoy camaraderie with extraordinary people.
