Meetings
Faithful Circle Quilters Guild meetings are held at the
Faith Methodist Church
432 59th Street
Downers Grove, Illinois, 60516.
Meetings are generally held on the fourth Wednesday of the month. They begin promptly at 7pm and run until 9 or 9:30pm. Please check the calendar on the Home Page for any changes to this schedule during the year.
The meeting typically follows a 3-part agenda: Guild Business, Featured Speaker, and Show and Tell (quilts made by guild members). Guests are encouraged to attend meetings and participate in workshops, which are usually scheduled for the following day. Workshop information can be found on the Home Page. There is a $10 visitor fee for attendance at Wednesday night meetings. Workshop fees are separate and listed in the workshop descriptions.
Membership
Membership in Faithful Circle Quilters is open to any person with an interest in the art of quilting.
Three types of membership are available: Regular, Subscription, and Junior. Each is described below. Due to space limitations at the meeting location, Regular Membership is limited to 200.
All members (Regular, Subscription & Junior) are entitled to the following:
Receive the monthly newsletter, From the Hearts of the Circle
Volunteer for any committee, club or quilt show activity
Display quilts in the biennial quilt show as space is available
Have signup preference for workshops
Receive annual Membership Directory
Option to join the guild’s Google Group
Regular Membership
In addition to the above benefits, Regular Members have the opportunity to serve on the guild board, are eligible to vote on guild issues and can attend the monthly meetings free. Regular members also have access to the guild library of books and videotapes.
Subscription Membership
Subscription Membership allows inclusion of past Regular Members who wish to maintain a "connection" with the guild. Persons currently on the waiting list for Regular Membership are encouraged to apply for Subscription Membership. Subscription Members pay a guest fee of $5 when attending guild meetings.
Junior Membership
Junior Membership is for any person 12 to 17 years of age with an interest in the art of quilt making. Junior members must be accompanied by a Regular Member and can attend any meeting free. Junior members also have access to the guild library.
Meeting Guests
Any guest attending a meeting will be asked to pay a $10 fee and will receive a complimentary newsletter.
Membership Application
Forms are available on this page (click here) or at the Membership Table during each meeting. Submit the form at a meeting or mail to Faithful Circle Quilters, P.O. Box 1071, Downers Grove, IL 60515.
Dues are currently $40 per year for Regular Members, $30 per year for Subscription Members and $10 per year for Junior Members.
Membership Waiting List
A waiting list for Regular Membership is maintained and updated by the Membership Chairperson. Names on the waiting list will be entered on a first come first served basis. Subscription Members wishing to upgrade their membership or potential new members will be added to the end of the list. As vacancies in Regular Membership open, the Membership Chairperson will contact the next available name on the waiting list for membership.
Membership Renewal
The membership renewal process begins in December and January for existing Regular Members. An application form is distributed at the meetings during those months and included in the monthly newsletter. Regular Members wishing to continue their membership status will complete the form and return it to the Membership Chairperson by the designated deadline. At this time, a Regular Member may choose the Subscription Membership option.
